I don’t have enough knowledge to talk about any religion. What I can say is the experience I have lived and also the questions that arose from those experiences. I don’t intend to hurt anyone feeling or criticise anybody religion or believe. Since childhood I was taught to follow Shi'ism by my parents. As I grew up and became responsible enough to answer for my own actions, by choice I follow the same religious doctrines which I have followed all my child life.
Back in Venezuela there were not many Asian families in city Cumana. In fact there were some countable in your fingers. Mom and Dad made sure that we had the religious education by teaching us at home, going to gatherings teaching us the ways of our ancestors. Make sure that we have at least the option to choose from the culture and religion we were living in or the one they were showing us. While my Mom gave us the information of Imam Ali (A.S.), and help us memorized some verses from the Quran by heart, Ammi Bibi taught us to read the Quran itself. As I grew up we went to Pakistan several times, and saw so many religious ceremonies. Pir Amin Ud Daula (Grandparent) known as Hafiz Sahib, knew the Quran by heart, Pir Rashid Ud Daula (Grandparent) famous for solving todays problems with references from the Quran, he and Abbu Nasir and Ammi Bibi also used to organized 10 Majlises (Religious gathering) for the Islamic month of Moharram. My Mom and Dad (Hazadars) are at present managing and financing Majlises for the first 10 days of Moharram .
Every time I participate or take part in these ceremonies some question are arose with no signs of any satisfactory answer from anywhere. Islam and in fact any religion in the world dictates no violence or blood shed of the innocent should be spell that’s why our Prophet’s grandson gave his life.Islam has being targeted as a violent religious by many leaders in the world. Why come muslims in the world are giving the bad name of Islam and spreading hate around the globe? Hazrat Hassan (PBUH) was the older son of Hazrat Ali (PBUH) having descendants alive, there were not given the nomination of Imam. Why we didn’t follow Imamat by Hazrat Hassan Musanna (PBUH) son of Hazrat Hassan (PBUH)? Not questioning the Imamat of our great leader Hazrat Hussain (PBUH). The idea of hurting yourself to demonstrate your faith or may be to understand they pain the Imam were going through is inexplicable to me. If the fact of hurting someone else is wrong in our religion how can be hurting ourselves be a good path to follow? I believe that everyone has the right to express their sorrow and their faith, the problems come when it becomes a doctrines for others to establish has a rules. There are good people everywhere in the world, different religion and believes. How can they be judge by their religion and not by their deeds? Which brings another other question; are your actions of more values then your religion faith? Who will be held behind for his actions and who will be punished by following their Imams, Fathers, Pandits, Rabbis, or a Monks. I have some more questions but I feel these are the more relevant and important for me to be answer.
I can’t leave without emphasise the fact I meant no harm or disrespect to anyone or anybody. Every religion deserves respect because each one of them preaches peace and love to the human race. Thank you.
Love to all…
DiL.
