Technology Development?

I was thinking that living in the 21 century is really making us dependables on our own created technology. I remembered when I was in Venezuela, Abbu Nasir bought a computer (first computer in the family) from a guy named Kenneth, I don't recall where he used to lived, may be Abbu Nasir knows exactly where he lived. It was amazing seeing the bulky tower and the extra huge monitor vga. We kids (Ghaz, Shabs, and myself) used the computer to play games, Bhaijan used it for some word processing occassionally. Even Ammi Bibi used to play with us on that pc.
Nowadays even kids 1 year old are so keen to the use IPOD/IPhones to play or hear music. It is sad that kids relay so much on computers programs that they won't learn how to write or read. Their vocabulary is so weak that you can see the total dependency on word processor and dictionaries. Kids don't like to use pencils they rather use notebooks or desktop.
Even adults are very close to the help of an electric equipment and appliances in the household, that with out one or two misiing from the list they feel with a part missing from their body.
I hope that we don't become so much dependants on this technology of today that we just sit around for everything do be done for us by machines. Imagine a world in which we humans are sitting done and the only muscle in the body that we move is our mouth, to give orders.

Love to all...

  1. The technology does not always go hand in hand with personal development. Sometimes, it is important innate aspect of the person. Nature must be respected. Kids need also other activities such as research in a book and practice reading. So we can improve our narrative and description, search for main ideas and secondary ideas. So we know more about languages. The thing is not just cut and paste.

On the other hand is so easy to have tools to help you save time and money. Electronic things are at the forefront and companies are competing for the best product. The product to minimize the problems of users.

Those with children it is important to have cutting edge technology but the fundamental basis of learning. A good book, good experiences, reading habits that will help refine the use of this tool is the computer.
