Australian Open!

Novak Djokovic won the Men’s Australian Open Tennis … India lost the last ODI to England, but the series had already been won by India, so this was just a courtesy game ..

I like Djokovic .. he has immense talent and resilience, and this being his third win at this grand slam event, shows how magnificent a player he is. Andy Murray his opponent played well in defeating Roger Federer day before, but today he was simply outclassed by a superior player, though he has beaten Djokovic earlier.
Murray has improved his game tremendously, particularly his serve. He has I notice, pumped up his body, which gives him greater energy and strength during the 5 setters that he often has to contend with. But today he started well and then gradually disintegrated after winning the first set. He had a very determined look and feel to his game with Federer. Not so much I felt today. I also find him clutching painful areas of his body often during the game. Especially when he is losing. Either his fitness is still under question, or it could be a game strategy. Often players do this to misguide the opponent. How ? That would require another page of writing. But I saw some portions of the Azarenka game in the semi finals against a US opponent and she took a trainer/medical break, just to distract the opponent, buy time to get her opponent to lose the rhythm of the game and eventually going on to win the match. She won the tournament too in the finals. But this was an act that created a lot of controversy, because of the crucial moment when the break was taken. Or so most of the experts and purists of the game thought. Even the commentators. There was nothing illegal about it. All within the rules of the game, but not gamesmanship in the eyes of the audience that was watching the game in the Stadium. Ah ! Well …

I wonder … gosh ! I have been wondering too often today .. I wonder if when you have sat down to watch or witness a game of prominence, that you have imagined yourself to be there in the middle … playing your heart out … being hammered and beaten, and then to everyone’s surprise, rising above all else and becoming victorious !! Have you ??

All right then .. lets put an end to this sporty Blog and seek the more subtle game of S..L..E..E..P ..

Love to all...
