Yesterday evening I was walking down to Morrison’s to buy some Lucozade for my little nephew Tahir Ali, he is only 2, but he loves to drink it occasionally of course. The weather in London was very nice; it was around the 17°C. There so many ways to get to the supermarket, but I usually take the way the crosses a park, Queensbury Park. There were lots of people in the park yesterday what call my attention was a mid-aged couple very much into each other, very loving and oblivious to their surroundings. I thought what a wonderful thing to see people caring and loving each there, why could we all be like them.
Fortunately or unfortunately, because I don’t know if should gone through the emotionally torture of 1 hour. But this is what happened? I went to the park early in the morning with the purpose getting some fresh air and jogging, to get healthier after eating so much of that delicious food is cooked at home. Making my second lap to the park sidewalk, I saw woman sitting down in one of the benches with tears on her eyes. I did realize that the woman was the one I saw yesterday in a very loving mode with her husband, lover or friend, whoever he might be. During my running I was thinking to ask her why she was crying. I was thinking that sometime women do cry for nothing, just cry because they feel like getting rid of the salty water that is amazingly stock up inside their eyes. May be she is cries because of that time in every women life which according to them is a reward from God to us the mankind. For one reason or another I couldn’t make up my mind and approached her. On my last lap getting closer to the bench I thought it is a good deed to help someone who is in need, she might need something and I can provide it, so be it. I will ask her what her problem is. I did go closer and asked “Excuse me, is everything alright? Do you need any help?” For me asking that is like I opened the door to the Niagara Falls. She bursted out and hold my hands like a desperate, like a fisherman holding to his rod which has the fish caught in his hook. She told me that indeed the guy that was with him yesterday was her husband; she just got from her native country 2 days ago. Her husband was asking her to serve as a courtesan, and make up for the money he spends on her by bringing her to this country. The scene yesterday was just to try to convince her that he was on her side, and whatever he was doing was for their own good. She was determined to go back by all means. I told her to go to the police station and report him for what his intentions. Luckily there was a police officer doing his routing round around the park. I did call upon his attention while taking to him the woman was no more sitting there, I couldn’t believe she left.
I was wondering how deceiving first impression can be. To what I thought it was an example for the all of us to follow turn out to be a complete fraud of what you want out of a relationship. I am surprised to see that these kinds of people (this woman’s husband) exist. If there are people like these where is our justice system?
Love to all…
