Attack on PNS Mehran

When one think that it is time to forget the mistakes from the past, something new evolves and one remains in shock, without recovering from the past disaster. The new and incredibly surprising news that are coming to the public eye is the attack on PNS Mehran (Pakistan Naval Station Mehran). This Naval Air Station situated in Karachi, 10 Kilometres from Quaid-e-Azam International Airport.

Yesterday at about 8:30pm London time, I turned on the TV and there it was the news was in a Pakistani channel in fact in every Pakistani channel. The Naval facility was taken by 12 men, apparently with no intention, but to terrorize the Pakistani officials. From where I was sitting it seems like a festival of lights, So many ambulances and police car outside the Naval Base, Pakistani Rangers and Army were only allowed to go inside. I would say that about around the hundreds was the man power that went inside. Finally after 16 hours of long military strategy and planning it all came to an end.

Interior Minister Rehman Malik came out once again with a political answer to the whole situation. “Apparently 6 men managed to get in to the Naval Base with forfeited military IDs and, took over the Institution destroying some planes and killing about 12 Pakistani Army men. In the interchange of fire power between the terrorists and the naval personnel, the good guys had gotten into their senses after the killing of their comrades and got to kill 4 bad guys, form which 2 managed to escape”, said Minister Mr Rehman.

My questions to Mister Malik are some that could be made by any Pakistani citizen. How did these 4 men get into PNS Mehran? Supposedly the security is very tight on these kinds of facilities. How did they manage to get so much armament to stay for 16 hour battling with one of the world best army? If they didn’t go inside with the fire power, did they get it inside? How? How come Mr Malik some terrorist escaped out from the facility after the deployment of so many army men, police, and CID in the area? How many terrorist were there in the Base? If there were 4, How come they stood up to for 16 hours against many trained Army Rangers? If different the figure of men that were inside, then where are the rest of the terrorists? Since according to Mr Malik 4 were guns down by the Army.

All these questions should be answer by the Government of Pakistan. The lack of security and the on-going terrorist attack in Pakistani soil is a day to day event, which means that the incompetence by someone is taking lives of many innocent people. The capability of the Intelligence agencies, security forces, Army, Navy, Air Force, and political leaders are in question. If you can’t provide a secure state then I think leave and, give chance to people who can provide the basic necessity. Quit playing to innocent lives! Respect your fellow citizens. Shame be on the enemies of Pakistan external and Internal.
