It is not a surprised to see that Venezuela is in the conditions in
which you described it Dad. More or less we all knew that it is going to be
something like this right from the day it began 1982 recession in the era of
President Lusinchi. I remembered that the Bolivar crumbled it strong value of
Bs4.30 a Dollar to an staggering high of Bs12.00. Corruption, bad management,
lack of patriotism, political instability, presidential negligence brought this
wonderful and rich country to an deteriorated physical stage, where primary or
basic resources are not met by the government and the people are suffering the
consequences of mistakes made in the past.
I remembered 1992 Operation Zamora led by late Hugo Chavez Frias. An intended
and failed military coup to remove the democratically elected late Mr. Carlos
Andres Perez. Being in Caracas as a student of Universidad Central de Venezuela
for the first time i experienced a military movement against our own
government. Soldiers were everywhere in the capital, it was a total lock down
of the city nobody could go in or out, a curfew was on placed. After such a
crime against democracy he didn’t faced a court martial. Freed by the late
Rafael Caldera in 1994 promising not to ever wear his military uniform, but his
destiny was awaiting, the populism of his so called socialism thinking was
blocking the mind of Venezuelans to take the country and cripple it even more
then it was already.
Visualization of a Venezuela bright and prosperous is the right of every
Venezuelan. We all hope and wish to see our beloved “Madre Patria” with
abundant resources, free of corruptions, jobs for the young generation, a well
established economy, safety/security in our streets, politically stable. We
have already the blessings from God for having non-ending natural resources,
rich agricultural soils, all year long tropical climate. The only thing needed
is a hand to guide us the right way. For the sake of our children we should all
pray that this thought should become a reality or else the future of our own
flesh and blood is going to be a very dark one.
Viva Venezuela mi patria querida...
Love...
DiL
